TERMS AND CONDITIONS
New Zealand Impressions Contract with You
New Zealand Impressions wish to set out clearly the mutual obligations and responsibilities between us when a contract is entered into. A contract will exist as soon as New Zealand Impressions confirms your booking.
The items included in each tour are clearly stated on the itinerary, written quotation or website. All other expenses including but not by way of limitation such as, international flights, laundry, visa/passport fees, telephone and communication costs, taxi fares, excess baggage charges, travel insurance, meals, drinks, and all other matters of a personal nature are not included and must be paid for separately by you.
To confirm your booking, New Zealand Impressions requires a 10% deposit for each person travelling. Full and final payment of the balance of the total tour cost is payable 60 days before your tour commences.
All payments can be made by credit card, including VISA, Mastercard and AMEX. Please note a 3.45% levy applies to payments made by credit card, as this is the Paypal processing fee. If you do not wish to pay by credit card through Paypal, we accept bank to bank transfers, for no additional fee.
The following cancellation and forfeiture provisions will apply:
1.Tours cancelled 60 - 40 days prior to the start of your New Zealand Impressions Tour, will result in forfeiture of 10% of the total tour cost. If additional charges have been incurred to accommodation or service providers (eg booked domestic flights, Tranz Alpine train etc.), those additional charges will be deducted from the balance of the total tour cost refundable to you.
2. Tours cancelled 39 - 15 days prior to the start of your New Zealand Impressions Tour, will result in forfeiture of 50% of the total tour cost. If additional charges have been incurred for accommodation or service providers (eg booked domestic flights, Tranz Alpine train etc.), those additional charges will be deducted from the balance of the total tour cost refundable to you.
3. Tours cancelled less than two weeks (14 days) prior to the start of your New Zealand Impressions Tour, will result in forfeiture of 100% of the total tour cost. No additional charges will be levied however.
New Zealand Impressions strongly recommends that you arrange comprehensive travel insurance at the time you book your trip. New Zealand Impressions will not be responsible for arranging any travel insurance.
No refunds will be made on any un-used or partially-used sections of your itinerary once travel has commenced, except in extenuating circumstances. Your own travel insurance may provide cover.
New Zealand Impressions will not be liable for any refunds for un-used or partially-used travel, arising from the unlikely need to change any arrangements, to ensure the safety and/or further participation and enjoyment of your holiday.
Cancellations or Changes by New Zealand Impressions
While it is unlikely that New Zealand Impressions will need to make any changes to your confirmed itinerary, sometimes this is unavoidable. Accordingly, notwithstanding anything otherwise provided in this Agreement, New Zealand Impressions reserves the right to, amend itineraries, or to cancel arrangements, in the event that it is required to do so, as a result of circumstances arising outside of its control. New Zealand Impressions will make alternative arrangements, to a similar value, when it is reasonably practical to do so.
New Zealand Impressions reserves the right to substitute any hotel/lodge/B & B/motel outlined in your confirmed itinerary, should circumstances necessitate it to do so. Should any such substitution occur, then the accommodation provided will be of a similar standard.
In the event that itineraries require alteration as a result of weather, transport cancellation or delays, or any other factors beyond New Zealand Impressions direct control, no liability will be accepted by New Zealand Impressions for any additional expenses incurred.
It is your own responsibility to ensure that all necessary travel documents (eg passport, visas) are valid and effective for the purposes of your tour.
You can bring 1 (one) suitcase weighing up to 23 kg, and a day bag which you can carry on your lap or at your feet, per person. If you need to bring additional luggage with you, please notify us well in advance of the start of your tour, and we will see if we can accommodate you.
Normal working hours for your driver are from 8.30am until 5.00pm, including a 30 minute lunch break. Your driver may be available to work outside these hours, by negotiation with your driver.
In the interests of safety,your driver cannot work for more than 12 hours, including breaks, in a day, and when he finishes work for the day, he must have a rest period of at least 12 hours, before he starts work again.
If you bring any food or drinks with you, such items must be declared to New Zealand Customs when entering New Zealand. No illegal drugs are permitted to be brought into New Zealand. You can bring your day to day medicines or prescription drugs with you. Just check whether they need to be declared to Customs.
Photos may be taken for promotional purposes. Please advise if you do not wish for photos to be used for promotional purposes.
Law and Jurisdiction
Any matters arising in relation to your contract with New Zealand Impressions will be governed by New Zealand law, and subject to the jurisdiction of the Courts of New Zealand.
New Zealand Impressions is a trading name of Discovery Travel Limited, a limited liability company duly incorporated under New Zealand law.
Compensation will not be payable by New Zealand Impressions if it needs to cancel or change your travel arrangements in any way for reasons of war, threat of war, riot, civil strife, industrial dispute, terrorist action, natural or nuclear disaster, fire, adverse weather conditions or other circumstances amounting to force majeure in law.
New Zealand Impressions will not be liable for any loss or damage to luggage or personal effects. New Zealand Impressions will not be liable for any personal injury or death to a passenger arising whilst traveling with New Zealand Impressions or any of its nominated suppliers. Some of the activities listed as options or included in tours involve an element of risk. New Zealand Impressions gives notice that it will not be liable for any damage, personal injury or death arising as a result of any of those activities.
